TRAINING 8: Practical Aspects of Innovation Procurement Procedures

The INPROCAP project is building the skills and tools necessary for all actors in the Big Science ecosystem to succeed. The eighth training, titled “Practical Aspects of Innovation Procurement Procedures”, is part of the INPROCAP Training Series (October 2025 – December 2026) and focuses on the practical application of innovation procurement procedures.

In this session, we will:

  • Make a recap on the innovation procurement journey – session where we will explore major steps of the innovation procurement lifecycle
  • provide a structured overview of key innovation procurement procedures, including pre-commercial procurement (PCP), public procurement of innovative solutions (PPI), competitive dialogue, and innovation partnership;
  • guide participants through the practical steps of designing and implementing these procedures;
  • explore how to effectively engage suppliers and manage procurement phases in real-life scenarios;
  • highlight key decision points and common challenges when applying innovation procurement in practice.

By the end of this session, you will:

  • understand how to select the most appropriate innovation procurement procedure based on your needs;
  • gain practical knowledge on structuring procurement phases and workflows;
  • learn how to engage with suppliers while ensuring transparency and equal treatment;
  • be able to navigate key decision points throughout the procurement process.

A focused session walking through the key steps of the innovation procurement lifecycle—from needs assessment and market analysis to open market consultation and procedure selection.

Day 2 – Tuesday, 30 June | 09:00-16:00

A hands-on, full-day session focused on applying innovation procurement procedures in practice – from selecting the appropriate procedure type (PCP, PPI, competitive dialogue, innovation partnership) to structuring each phase, managing supplier engagement, and navigating key decision points throughout the process.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
