On 4 December 2025, INPROCAP will take part in the Big Science Industry Forum Spain 2025 (BSIFS2025) at IFEMA – Centro de Convenciones Norte, Madrid. Our contribution will be featured in the plenary session “Innovative Procurement: Towards a greater involvement of the Science Industry in the procurement and development of large scientific infrastructures”

BSIFS2025, organised by CDTI Innovación, the INDUCIENCIA Technology Platform and INEUSTAR, is the first national forum of the Science Industry in Spain. The two-day event (3–4 December 2025) aims to strengthen the capabilities of the Spanish Big Science industry, foster collaboration among companies, research infrastructures and institutes, and present upcoming contracting opportunities and technological trends.
INPROCAP’s South regional event
INPROCAP’s participation in the plenary on innovative procurement forms part of the project’s South regional event. By aligning this regional activity with BSIFS2025, INPROCAP will:
- connect Big Science Organisations (BSOs), Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs) and companies from Southern Europe around concrete innovation procurement topics;
- highlight how innovation procurement can open new business opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises and high-tech firms;
- collect insights and examples that will feed into the INPROCAP training journey, online toolbox and Community of Practice.
The plenary session “Innovative Procurement: Towards a greater involvement of the Science Industry in the procurement and development of large scientific infrastructures” will take place on 4 December 2025 as part of the BSIFS2025 programme.
Why this matters for INPROCAP
Innovation procurement is a key lever for turning Big Science challenges into collaborative projects with industry. BSIFS2025 provides an ideal setting to:
- present INPROCAP’s work on capacity building for ILOs and BSOs;
- exchange views with national and international stakeholders on how to involve industry more effectively in the development of large research infrastructures;
- identify potential themes and partners for future co-design activities under INPROCAP.
The event will also help raise awareness of INPROCAP’s free specialised trainings and advisory resources among companies and intermediaries active in the Spanish and wider Southern European ecosystems.
